Safe Steps Training is the place for choices.
We offer full training as well as skills testing only.

Training:
Safe Steps uses a 1:1 manikin to student ratio to provide maximum practice time for a high-quality training session. Our friendly and relaxed style provides a positive learning experience.

Skills Session:
The American Heart Association allows students to do the classroom sections online then meet with an American Heart Association Instructor to do the skills needed. The certification card will be identical to the classroom card. There is no difference in the cards as both style trainings are per American Heart Association guidelines. You MUST present the completion certificate from the Online portion in order to do the skills test.

Sarah Rouse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sarah is a dynamic instructor. She makes everyone in the class feel at home, which makes for a great learning atmosphere. She is very zealous about making sure that everyone attending her classes leaves the class feeling confident that they can perform in an actual emergency.

TW Harris, EMT. TW has always had a passion for the medical field. He has been an Emergency Medical Technician for over 12 years.

Mitch Harris, Jr. Mitch is an energetic speaker that truly motivates people. He is the Vice President of Safe Steps Training and is certified as an SSTM for the North Carolina Department of Labor's STAR Program. He was formerly a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician.

This course is for those that want to learn CPR & Choking and do not require certification such as; new parents, new grandparents, family members of heart patients, community groups, church nursery workers, church ushers, parent/teacher associations, workplace wellness programs, neighborhood associations, middle and high school students. AHA - Bloodborne Pathogens
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(i) The employer shall train each employee with occupational exposure in accordance with the requirements of this section. Such training must be provided at no cost to the employee and during working hours. The employer shall institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program. This training course is for industry and manufacturing, Fortune 500 companies, occupational health, property management, hospitality, security, and health and fitness staff. In addition, childcare workers, school personnel, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, and state corrections facilities may be interested in the course due to additional state regulations.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Training
Course Description
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals.

Approximately 3 to 4 hours

$65.00 per person  (2 Year Certification)
Group Rate
: $65.00 for the first person then $55.00 for each additional person

Course Description
This course is designed to provide people that have had the training in the past to receive the approval without sitting through an entire new class but gives ample time to refresh their skills.

Course Length

Renewal training is approximately 2.5 hours

Cost
Renewal training is $55.00 per person (2 Year Certification)
 
This does not include a book since it is a renewal. If you would like a book, add $10.00

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Training Online Part 1 & Part 2 Skills
Course Description
BLS HCP Online Part 1 offers a flexible CPR training option for healthcare professionals. This program recognizes that healthcare professionals enter the course with knowledge and skills acquired from prior CPR training and years of patient care. Part 1 - Students complete the online, cognitive portion of the course, either at the workplace or anywhere with Internet access. When students finish the online portion, a certificate of completion will be available for them to print. The certificate is required to complete Parts 2 & 3 at an authorized American Heart Association Training Center. Parts 2 & 3 - Students complete the skills validation test with an American Heart Association Instructor.

Part 1 Online is approximately 1 to 2 hours  &
Parts 2 & 3 are approximately 20 - 30 minutes

Course Description
This course is designed for employee's and/or designated first responders who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

Course Length

First Aid & CPR/AED is Approximately 6.5 to 7.5 hours
CPR/AED only is approximately 2 to 3 hours
First Aid only is approximately 3 to 4 hours

First Aid & CPR/AED is $80.00 per person ( 2 year certification)

The Heartsaver First Aid Online with CPR/AED Part 1 Course offers a flexible, time-saving option for workplaces that need to provide safety training. The complete course is delivered in three parts. Oh No! What Do I Do?

Concerned about your employees knowing what to do in an emergency but you don't have
the time to host a CPR class. Your clients and customers are important and how your
employees respond to one of those clients that has a medical emergency is going to have either

The National Safety Council concentrates on the Workplace. Meaning, they follow the AHA guidelines but look at it and set the training up from an industrial setting point of view.

CPR & First Aid Training
Safe Steps Training offers training in three different formats. American Heart Association and National Safety Council. Safe Steps Training has the experience and expertise to be able to offer you a choice of training programs. This is something that is very rare in the area of training consultants.

Emergency Response
Part of a good safety plan is preparing for "What If." Safe Steps Training helps prepare for that by offering Industrial Water Safety & Self Rescue, Low and High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Structural Collapse, and Mechanical Entrapment.

Just a few policy things;

1.See our Cancellation Policy when registering.  

2. Seating is limited. Advance enrollment is the only way to ensure you have a class. Enrollments are based on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a seat in this course, the course fee must be received prior to the course date.

4. Safe Steps Training reserves the right to cancel a class in an emergency. We DO NOT cancel for lack of students. If class is cancelled, you will be notified and transferred to another class of your choice or refunded your full enrollment fee.

5. There is a $12.00 charge for AHA Card Replacement and $15.00 for NSC Replacement.

6. Training at your location requires a minimum of 6 paid spots (Family & Friends - 10 paid spots). Due to distance, some locations such as Raleigh, may require more than the minimum of 6 students.

7. Completion cards are issued by the American Heart Association and we have no control over them. Cards typically arrive within two weeks but in rare occurrences it could be longer
